From 911 Dispatch to Abstract Art

I spent years as a 911 dispatcher fielding emergency calls, using painting to help deal with the stress and lack of sleep I faced working the midnight shift, with two boxer dogs at my side. Now I make abstract paintings & designer toys, fundraise for boxer rescues and advocate for my autistic son. Life's weird like that.

What This Is

This is where I write about the intersection of art, life as a special needs parent, and boxer rescue. You'll get stories from behind the dispatch desk, thoughts on abstract painting, being a parent to an autistic son and whatever else seems worth sharing.

I write with input from two key contributors:

Management – My rescue dog who has strong opinions about my work schedule and helping with rescue fundraising

The Intern – My autistic son who sees the world differently and keeps me honest about everything.

If You Love Boxers and Art, this is the place for you!

What You'll Find Here

  • Management’s take on life inside a house and new discoveries

  • Designer toy and abstract painting process

  • Family life with an autistic son and rescue dog

  • Boxer rescue fundraising

  • Stories from dispatch work and how it shaped my art

  • zero politics, some profanity, lots of snarky humor

That's It

No grand mission statements or life-changing promises. Just honest writing about an unconventional path from crisis management to creative work. The goal is to bring joy and laughter to the world while being the person my dog thinks I am.
