Pinned, so you don't have to dig
Hey — if you’re new here, welcome. If you’ve been here a while, welcome to the new version of here.
I’m Amber. Former 911 dispatcher, now full-time artist, writer, homeschooling mom to an autistic kid (the Intern), and current employee of a boxer named Keaton, who goes by Management because that is genuinely her job title in this house.
In 911 dispatch, 5150 means crazy. 5149 and a half means something doesn’t sound right but we can’t quite say what. I’ve been 5149 and a half my whole life. This is where I write about it.
What you’ll find here:
🎨 Artwork — abstract paintings, designer art toys, and the process behind both.
✍ Poetry — original poems on grief, love, motherhood, survival, and everything in between.
🗣Brutal Honesty — dispatching stories, recovery, motherhood, the parts I don’t soften.
🐾 Dog Rescue — boxer rescue spotlights, fundraiser updates, foster talk, and the honest stuff about what actually helps (and what doesn’t).
🐕 Off Leash — Management’s discoveries, Dear Management (advice from a senior rescue who’s seen it all), and Private Nose (a boxer detective who never lets a case go cold).
Everything’s free right now. No paid tier yet — that may come later, but for now, just read what catches your eye and skip what doesn’t.
If you want to say hi, reply to any post or email. I read everything.
Glad you’re here.
— Amber (& Management, who is supervising this post closely)
