Aka if you build it, the dog will come.
Management spent the weekend supervising our gazebo build project. It took a bit for her to get in under the shade but once she did, she was a happy girl.
*Shout out to my dad, who still comes over to help me and Corporate (aka hubby) do these projects even though I am an adult now.
I am off Facebook and Instagram permanently. The pages have deleted so no going back. While it's a huge relief to be off the doom scrolling these days and not consumed with providing content, it has effected my rescue efforts. I'm not able to just post a piece and start collecting money for rescues like before. So while I come up with an alternative to those previous fundraisers, I am creating a boxer artwork surplus to have on hand for rescues that reach out. Some of the popular items, like several more of these rainbow angel boxes for momentos in various sizes. The smaller sizes will go in the shop and the big ones will be set aside for rescue fundraising only.
I'm creating three more of these long wall hangings called “For All The Dogs I've Loved Before”. The shipping cost on these so far just kills, but at least two if not all three will be set aside rescue fundraising only.
Rescues can contact me through the shop contact page www.5149andahalfart.com, my email acp@5149andahalfart.com or my cell which many of you have.
I recently finished a custom version for long time follower and supporter Barb. I was able to add the individual names too for each dog. She kindly donated a huge piece to our Buckner's Extravaganza last time along with many other contributions over the years so this was a long overdue ‘Thank You’ project.
I did add a few random pieces into the shop this week, including some new water colors and a few designer toy pieces, like this Blue Frog Prince.
Next shop update will be April 1st. I'll have some Slick Bunnies, a couple purple cows and a few other surprises. I'm working on a batch of Baby Crocs and something I'm calling Filthy Piggies as well, in preparation for doing some in person Art Market events.
I hope everyone is doing well. I gotta admit I miss so many of you that I got to interact with via social media. If you're in need of more pictures of Management and the Intern, I recommend getting the substack app. I know you're thinking, not another app! I hear ya. But with the substack app you can see Notes which is basically a short post feed. And mine is pretty much all doggies.
Last but not least, an apology is necessary to Janis S. She commented the other day on a picture of ole Betsey and I mis read it, thinking she was complaining about Betsey's nails and overall care. I reacted by commenting back rudely. Only to realize later that I was a dumbass. So my sincere apologies to Janis. I should know better these days than to overreact and I'm embarrassed for my behavior. I'm including it in my newsletter so y'all know that I am trying to be the person my dog thinks I am. But unfortunately I do make mistakes still.
Management had a minor mishap in the yard and cut her back paw. She thought she could catch the neighbors kitty walking along the fence. A chase that led to her stepping on something and no kitty. Nothing major. But we fixed her all up and she's settled in on the couch now. Someone else will have to oversee the gazebo project now.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!
Can't wait to get my "for all the dogs I've loved before" art! So excited!!! Thank you Amber.
