Also, what do you know about guinea pigs?
Management has been keeping busy with walks every day. Lounging on all couches, beds, etc throughout the house. And chasing away the birds in the backyard with her partner in crime, the Intern. The picture above is from today. The local school comes on May day and gives each house nearby flowers. So this pretty girl got about thirty pets and love from elementary school children and loved every minute of it.
We celebrated the Intern turning 6 years old! It's crazy to me how quickly this time is going. It feels like just yesterday I was going back and forth between horrible bouts of morning sickness and severely craving Reese's Peanut butter cups.
We recently went to PetSmart to grab a few goodies for Betsey. This is the first time my son saw a guinea pig. He wants one now and has been talking about it non stop. I'm sure Betsey would love a guinea pig …..for lunch lol
Corporate, aka hubby, says no guinea pigs because neither of us knows anything about caring for one. That said I was thinking of maybe a water turtle or fish would be fun? Who knows.
Side note, my son loves scooping dog poop. Remember when you told your parents you wanted a dog and they said, you'll have to feed it and pick up the poop. You're like, yes, I'll do it! And then you do everything you can to avoid doing it. Not sure how I got lucky to have the one kid that absolutely loves to have “chores” and responsibilities (see RFK Jr, autism isn't destroying this family). I know, I promised no politics and that's my only comment.
Well, that and I'd like to punch him in his face for everything he says about autism. Other than that….
Since leaving social media, business has come to a grinding halt. I have done a few commissions and that's about it. While I don't regret leaving FB or IG, I am still trying to navigate life as an artist without the usual means of plugging my work.
In the meantime, in a hope to get some sales coming in, Management created a coupon code for the shop. Use BETSEY on a purchase over $50 to get 40% off your order. Feel free to spread the word please.

I've been working on a couple books projects in the meantime. Including a graphic novel about rescue boxers. Commissions are open and you can email me acp@5149andahalfart.com to schedule custom paintings, pastel portraits or box work.
As for rescue fundraising, I'm always available. So please reach out if you're with a rescue.
Buckner's Extravaganza fundraiser auction will still happen as usual in September. We're hoping R&R Boxer Rescue lets us use their social media to share the album of goodies. Betsey has some pull there.
I'm closing with puppy pictures. These pups are available through R&R Boxer Rescue. They are beautiful boxer mix (possibly lab) cleft puppies. The cleft doesn't require any extra expenses. I think the one with white looks very Betsey ish.
For the record I STILL crave reese's PB cups.
