End of the Year Stats
I started using my artwork to help raise money for boxer rescues in 2014. How that journey began is a story for another time. But at the end of each year since I like to share my totals. My hope is it encourages people, particularly artists, to use their gift to give back to something they are passionate about. My dogs have had a huge impact on my life so rescue is what I have chosen to support.
In 2014, I helped raise $1,580. I clearly remember being smitten with that total and feeling like it was a lot. It took some time to realize what actually goes into the expenses of a rescue. And also for me to find the best way to use my artwork to help. By 2019, I found my stride. And my full time job. And have my son.
So in 2024, we helped raise $8525 for various boxer rescues. That number is much lower than in previous years (2020 I raised $18,513.75) but considering how much time I took off from working to help my son transition to school, I'm pretty happy with it. Plus overall this was a much slower year for donations in general. Our biggest fundraiser of the year, “Buckner's Extravaganza”, was still a huge success with a record number of other artists participating (my first Extravaganza was literally just my art). It brought in $3480 alone from 14 artists.
That brings our total to: $94,552 raised for rescues in our first decade of business. I was really, really hoping to hit $100k. It sounded cool to say $100k raised in the first ten years. That said….
I am very proud of our success in helping boxer (and some non boxer breed) rescues. I know I can do better in the future. Especially at juggling my roles of artist and mom. So what does 2025 hold for us?
I know I will continue to help rescues.
I know I will continue to put my son's needs first.
I have a boxer dog graphic novel in the works.
I am also working on a project involving my artwork and poetry.
So if you enjoy following the ins and outs of Management's life, artwork that is boxer and non boxer related and my role as an autism advocate for my son this is the place!
Thank you everyone for supporting my work and our mission to help rescues
